1MDB - Kenapa Tak Simpan USD1.103 Bil Dalam Maybank Singapura ?

Sunday, March 29, 20154comments

US$1.8 billion share capital and its Singapore branch has a capital of US$200 million. Its latest financial account posted on its website showed that its suffered a loss of US$722 million.

Tidakkah pelik ?

BSI Singapore
Meh saya tolong .....  dari BusinessTimes 13/3 -

Based on documents obtained by The Business Times, BSI Singapore had issued portfolio statements on 1MDB's US$2.318 billion investment in Cayman Islands funds back in 2012 for client Brazen Sky - 1MDB's wholly-owned unit incorporated in the British Virgin Islands and the entity that carried out the investment offshore.

Typically, portfolio statements, which provide information on the value and performance of investments, are issued to clients by the investment manager, in this instance, it should have been Hong Kong-based Bridge Partners Asset Management as well as Australia's Avestra which entered the picture later.

When contacted to confirm or deny if the bank had issued these portfolio reports for 1MDB's investments, a BSI Singapore spokesman declined comment, citing confidentiality.

"Investors prefer to have a letter rather than nothing," James Chin, director of Asia Institute at University of Tasmania, said by phone on March 24. "I believe the letter will stand up because it's very specific, otherwise the whole thing will fall apart. The real question is what happens when Najib is no longer the Prime Minister or the Finance Minister?"

Standard and Poor's rates 1MDB's 2023 bonds at A-, the same level as the sovereign, because it understands the letter of support is effectively equivalent to a guarantee, said Kim Eng Tan, a Singapore-based sovereign analyst at the ratings company.

"The letter of support makes a clear and strong commitment to ensure the repayment of the bond," he said.

The 2023 dollar bonds also have a clause allowing holders to redeem if 1MDB misses payments of more than $30 million. In that case, and if 1MDB can't meet debt obligations, the government would have to honor it, Mr Tan said.

Maksudnya anda faham2 lah ....

Satu lagi berita tak menarik dari artikel sama -

Fitch Ratings said last week that Malaysia is "more than 50 percent likely" to be downgraded as its trade balance worsens and 1MDB struggles to meet debt obligations. The nation would "sit more naturally in the BBB range," below its current A-grade, Andrew Colquhoun, head of Asia Pacific sovereign ratings, said in an interview.

JLo maybe under estimate the 'under-current' yang akan bocor rahsia2 dealing 1MDB for him and Reza to make a quick flip.

EXPLAINING AWAY THE TRUTH
It is no good at all
to conjure all sorts of reasons
to explain away truth:

One could subscribe to truth
only when one has self-respect in the first place;

When a man tells untruths,
he has no respect for himself
and little would he do better for others
except for his own gain;

And when a man tells lies,
he has a tendency to forget:

With one lie after the other,
eventually he would be caught
in his own tangled web:

2. He will speculate, preempt anything within his reach in defence of his boss, No wonder sabahans "love" him most....huhu

1MDB: When politics overrides truth By SSK
---------------------------------------

Undeniably, we need a strong opposition to keep the government in check. Any country devoid of an opposition would be a breeding ground for a dictatorship or autocracy. That is the fundamentals of a democracy. The other, of course, being that the majority decides. This is so basic that any political philosophy student would know this. While we need a strong opposition that can represent the dissenting voice of the people -- because in any society there will always be a dissenting voice -- it must at the same time be a responsible opposition. It must be an opposition that seeks the truth and not an opposition that criticises just for the sake of criticising, even when the government is right. The opposition is going to extremes regarding the 1MDB issue. They have turned this into a personal crusade as a weapon to bring down the Prime Minister. The fact that certain leaders in Umno are also using this same issue to criticise the Prime Minister is giving the impression that the opposition and the ruling party are both united against the Prime Minister. The government has already ordered an audit of 1MDB’s affairs. The police are also conducting an investigation. However, even before we are told about the outcome of these investigations, the opposition is acting like the results are already in and that the results prove wrongdoing on the part of the Prime Minister. Is this what seeking the truth is all about? Is truth about what the opposition says is the truth? The opposition complains about trial by media against one of its own kind. But it has no qualms about trial by media against the Prime Minister. The opposition is giving an impression that the Prime Minister is guilty so whatever the outcome of the investigation no longer matters. And if the investigation proves otherwise they will protest that the investigation is fraudulent and a cover-up. This leaves the authorities with very little room. Either you find the Prime Minister guilty or else the investigation’s conclusion will not be accepted. The opposition has already decided that the Prime Minister is guilty and this is the only verdict they want to hear. The role of the opposition has changed from the seeker of truth to judge, jury and executioner. And this is most unfortunate because this has subverted the role of the opposition from a counterbalance to becoming an inquisition. And we all know that in an inquisition you are considered guilty unless you can prove your innocence. And this violates the very principle of innocent until proven guilty.
