Safwan Anang DiGantung Persekolahan Oleh UM

Universiti Malaya telah menggantung TIGA pelajarnya kerana mencemar imej dan nama Universiti melalui perbuatan mereka menghina gambar2 pemimpin negara semasa demo anti Ptptn 14 April lalu.

Penggantungan turut disertai dengan amaran dan denda RM200 setiap seorang dan berkuatkuasa sertamerta.

Mereka adalah Mohd Syahid Mohd Zaini, Muhammad Safwan Anang dan Haziq Abdullah Abd Aziz.

Difahamkan ketiga pelajar itu akan merayu keputusan itu dalam masa dua minggu.

Sementara itu, Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi juga mengenalpasti 22 orang dari 49 gambar yang disiarkan sebagai DiKehendaki dalam kes Rusuhan Bersih 3.0 sebagai pelajar.


Khaled Nordin berkata "Jika kami dahulu yang bertemu pelajar ini, kami akan menasihati mereka supaya menyerah diri dan membiarkan pihak polis menyoal mereka. Mereka tidak harus takut," MStar

PETALING JAYA: Universiti Malaya has suspended three students for tarnishing its image by desecrating photographs of national leaders.

In a statement issued by its International & Corporate Affairs office, UM said the suspension, caution as well as a fine of RM200 each were effective immediately.

The three are Mohd Syahid Mohd Zaini, Muhammad Safwan Anang @ Talib and Haziq Abdullah Abd Aziz.

“A student disciplinary committee comprising three senior university academics found that the students had tarnished UM's name through their actions,” it said.

The three students were part of an anti-National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) demonstration held on April 14, where students called on the authorities to abolish the student loan scheme and provide free tertiary education.

Aside from placing funeral garlands on the leaders' portraits, the students had also carried a mock tombstone during the protest.

Mohd Syahid said the students would appeal the decision in two week's time.
